Statement of Faith
What we believe and confess together: one in Christ, diverse in denominational expression.
Preamble
We, the Church and Clergy Association of Kenya (CCAK), an umbrella body uniting the Body of Christ in Kenya, affirm our unity in Christ while respecting our diversity in denominational expression. We are called to defend the faith, protect freedom of worship, and promote godly leadership and community transformation for the Republic of Kenya.
Ten articles of faith
We believe and confess
01
The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God, the final standard for faith, doctrine and Christian living.
2 Timothy 3:16–17
02
The Triune God
We believe in One God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Creator of all, sovereign and holy.
Matthew 28:19 · Deuteronomy 6:4
03
Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death on the cross, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal, visible return in power and glory.
John 1:1 · Acts 1:11
04
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, His divinity, His work in conviction, regeneration, sanctification, and empowerment of the believer for holy living and service.
Acts 1:8 · Galatians 5:22–23
05
The Fall and Salvation
We believe man fell into sin and is lost, and that salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone, producing repentance, new birth and a transformed life.
Ephesians 2:8–9 · Romans 3:23
06
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ, comprising all born-again believers, called to worship, to make disciples of all nations, to live in unity, love and holiness, while respecting legitimate denominational distinctives.
Matthew 16:18 · Ephesians 4:3–6
07
Freedom of Worship and Human Dignity
We believe every Kenyan has a God-given right to freedom of worship, conscience and peaceful assembly as enshrined in the Constitution of Kenya 2010, and that every person is created in the image of God and deserves respect, justice and dignity.
Genesis 1:27 · Constitution of Kenya, Article 32
08
Integrity Leadership and Community Empowerment
We believe clergy are called to model integrity leadership, servanthood, accountability and stewardship, and that the Church is called to be salt and light, empowering communities socially, economically, morally and spiritually for nation-building.
Matthew 5:13–16 · Micah 6:8 · Titus 1:7–8
09
Family, Righteousness and Nationhood
We believe in the sanctity of family as ordained by God, in righteousness that exalts a nation, in peace, unity, and the pursuit of justice for all Kenyans.
Proverbs 14:34
10
The Blessed Hope
We believe in the resurrection of the dead, eternal life for the righteous, and the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ to judge and to reign in righteousness.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17
Our commitment as CCAK
United around Christ and His Word
Therefore, we unite not around personalities or denominations, but around Christ and His Word, to speak with one voice for the Church, to defend freedom of worship, to demand integrity in pulpit and public leadership, and to empower our communities for a God-fearing Kenya.
We affirm to support the true gospel of Jesus Christ, dividing the word of God correctly through sound doctrine only, that brings honour to our Lord Jesus Christ.
One Church, One Voice, One Nation Under God
